Hello and Welcome to Flowers by June Borrowdale

I’m June Borrowdale and I run my floristry business from my home studio in the North Nottinghamshire village of Carlton-in-Lindrick, where we are well placed to provide a floristry service for surrounding villages and our local towns of Worksop and Retford, along with the North Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire area. 

I am absolutely passionate about flowers and create bespoke flowers for weddings, funerals and special occasions, along with teaching and demonstrating floral design.  I have 30 years of experience working with flowers, including teaching floristry and flower arranging in local colleges for 15 years before making the life changing decision to start my own local business! I really enjoy my work and playing a part in the lives of members of our local community by providing flowers for their special occasions where flowers say so much!

I travel around the UK as a Nationally qualified teacher for NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) and am also a qualified Area Demonstrator and Area Judge. Floristry has taken me on exciting working trips to Scotland, Dublin and even to the Costa Blanca where I am occasionally invited to demonstrate floral design for a flower club located there.

Working with flowers is an absolute joy and has enabled me to create designs for flower festivals in such prestigious venues as Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall, St. Barnabas Cathedral Nottingham and Lincoln Cathedral.  In 2019 I was invited to create a pedestal design in Westminster Abbey for the Battle of Britain Memorial Service (pictured).   Over the years I have gained many awards in many flower shows, including an RHS Silver Gilt Medal at Chelsea Flower Show.

I have been a very enthusiastic member of NAFAS for many years and am a member of a contemporary floral design group where I keep my skills updated by learning about the latest techniques and styles.  Locally I am a member of Dinnington Floral Art Society.  I am a past Area Chairman and Area President of the North Midlands Area of NAFAS.

I am a local business and proud to be able to provide a floristry service for our community that is professional, personal and from the heart, with every detail carefully considered whatever the occasion.
