Welcome to Flowers by June Borrowdale

As a Freelance Floral Designer I work from a home studio in the North Nottinghamshire village of Carlton-in-Lindrick, where I specialise in creating bespoke flowers for weddings and special occasions, along with teaching and demonstrating. I have over 25 years of experience working with flowers – teaching floristry and flower arranging in local colleges for 15 years and now creating bespoke floristry commissions. I travel across the UK as a Nationally qualified teacher for the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) and am also an Area Demonstrator Demonstrations and Area Judge. In recent years I even demonstrated floral design for a flower club based on the Costa Blanca on two occasions!

Working with flowers is an absolute joy and has enabled me to create floral designs for flower festivals in such prestigious venues as Chatsworth, Hardwick Hall and St. Barnabas Cathedral in Nottingham. In 2019  I was honoured to be invited to create a pedestal design in Westminster Abbey for the Battle of Britain Memorial Service (pictured).  I have gained many awards at local County Shows and the Harrogate Spring and Autumn Flower Show. Several years ago I was part of a team of flower arrangers who represented the North East Area of NAFAS at Chelsea Flower Show where we were awarded a coveted Silver Gilt Medal.

I have been a very enthusiastic member of NAFAS for many years and I am a member of contemporary floral design group, Future Concepts, where I study the latest techniques and floral design ideas. Locally I am also a member of Dinnington Floral Art Society. Currently I am Area President of the North Midlands Area of NAFAS.
